Miso is a traditional Japanese seasoning essential for Japanese cuisine. Miso soup, made with miso, is a classic Japanese home-cooked dish. During this experience, you will deepen your understanding of miso through the lecture on the basics of miso and the tour of the miso factory. Afterward, you will cook miso dishes by yourself. While enjoying delicious miso dishes, you will also gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
We are Komego Miso, a traditional miso manufacturer that has been producing miso in Fukui since 1831. As the sole provider of miso to Eiheiji Temple—the head temple of the Soto Zen—we have been supporting the nutritional needs of Zen monks at Eiheiji Temple. Let's experience Japanese food culture through this program. We hope you enjoy it!
